The editorial board of the Star Ledger marvels that Republicans are rejecting Chris Christie’s presidential bid – not because of his mismanagement or because of scandals like Bridgegate – but because he’s not crazy enough.

At last Wednesday’s meeting of the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, GOP Freeholder and Assembly candidate Gail Phoebus proved to be a font of misinformation -- once in support of her motion to investigate Planned Parenthood; but also about veteran identification cards.

Some of you may be fortunate enough to receive a periodic e-mail from the “Sussex County Watchdog”. His recent topics include predictable Republican attacks on Planned Parenthood and anti-gay rhetoric, but last week the Sussex County Democratic party had the privilege of being the subject of his ire.

At Wednesday night’s meeting, Freeholder and GOP candidate for the New Jersey Assembly Gail Phoebus hoodwinked her colleagues on the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

To the chagrin of Chris Christie, The Bridgegate scandal is not quite dead.
