Sussex Dems Step Up to the Plate in Zone 2

On January 18th, the Sussex County Democratic Committee held the first in a series of meetings designed to form or strengthen already existing municipal Democratic committees/clubs across the County, and Sussex Democrats responded.

scdc_mobilization-450.jpgThe meeting was for Zone 2 (the number is of no significance) and included the following towns: Andover Township, Andover Borough, Fredon, Green, Hampton, Newton, and Stillwater. The event resulted in action across that area.

Andover Township and Andover Borough have combined efforts to form one committee. The first meeting will take place on February 10.  For more information, contact Andover Township chairman Ben Silva.

Green: An SCDC member has taken the lead on organizing an initial meeting of the committee. Expect a date to be set soon. Please contact us at [email protected] to get involved or to find out more information.

Hampton: The Hampton committee met on January 25th and has set additional meeting dates for the next two months. The next meeting is on February 8.  For more information, contact Ed Selby.

Newton: The Newton Democrats are in full swing. Municipal chairman John McGuigan set a date for the next meeting on February 12.

Stillwater: A group of over a dozen Stillwater Democrats are already working together, making plans and arranging an initial meeting date. That date and place are expected to be announced soon. Please contact us at [email protected] to get involved or to find out more information.

Fredon: If you would like to take the lead on organizing a meeting of the Fredon Democrats, please contact us at [email protected] to get involved or to find out more information.

The Zone 1 meeting took place on January 26,, and included the following towns: Byram, Hopatcong, Ogdensburg, Sparta, and Stanhope. This zone is made up of all Sussex County municipalities in the eleventh congressional district. Plans are underway for those towns.

The Zone 4 meeting will be held on January 31 for these towns: Branchville, Frankford, Montague, Sandyston, Sussex Borough, Walpack, and Wantage.

The final meeting for Zone 3 is on February 7 for Franklin, Hamburg, Hardyston, Lafayette, and Vernon.
