Last night in Newton, Ambassador Phil Murphy addressed the Sussex County Democratic Committee to describe his vision of what needs to be done in order for New Jersey’s middle class to achieve its potential.

As Governor he would bring the managerial skills garnered over years as a leader in the private and public sector to promote that end. Ambassador Murphy gained some friends last night.

Also at last night’s meeting:

> A moment of silence to express sorrow at the loss of our recently deceased friends and colleagues, John Lydon and Phil King.

> The declaration by former Assembly candidate Mike Grace that he will seek election to the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders; and

> An announcement by SCDC Chair Leslie Huhn of plans to focus attention on several municipal races in the county, as well as supporting the bid of Josh Gottheimer to unseat Scott Garrett in the 5th Congressional District.
