VOTER REMINDER POSTS, Day 7 — Tracking Your Ballot

If you have already voted VBM, we're sure you will want to know if you can check on the status of your ballot once it's in the system.

Luckily, the State of New Jersey has a website where you can do just that —

https://www.nj.gov/.../elections/vote-track-my-ballot.shtml
.

You will have to create a ballot tracking account once you are on the site. The best way to do this is to use as your identifier the unique voter ID number displayed on the outside of your original ballot mailer.

If you don't have that number handy, not to worry. Just go to the "Am I Registered?" portion of the New Jersey Division of Elections website (https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/registration-check). You will be asked to enter your name and month/year of birth. Once you do this, a new screen will pop up. In the lower right corner, you will see your Voter ID number. Write it down and then use it to create the new tracking account.

The ballot moves from N/A (meaning not yet submitted) to "Received" (meaning that the Board of Elections has your ballot but has not yet processed it), and then - hopefully - to "Accepted."

Please be patient as the ballots work their way through the system. If there is truly something wrong with your ballot, you will be contacted by mail and given the opportunity to "cure" or fix your ballot. Furthermore, you will not see "Accepted" as your status until your ballot has been fully processed and counted.

Any questions?
