It is with great appreciation that we congratulate the Democratic Candidate for Sussex County Freeholder Michele Van Allen for a tremendous campaign! Although Michele fell short of a victory, she received 22.583 votes!

Sussex Democrats gathered in Hamburg at a Get Out the Vote Champagne Breakfast in Hamburg on Sunday morning.

[UPDATED] Last night, Michele Van Allen, Democratic candidate for Sussex County Freeholder, addressed the crowd at a candidate’s forum sponsored by the Ogdensburg Historical Society. Michele spent a substantial part of her allotted time discussing the financial needs of students at Sussex County Community College and the growing problem of opioid addiction in the county.

Last Sunday, at Sussex County Day at the Fairgrounds, Democratic candidate for Sussex County Freeholder Michele Van Allen got caught tossing a whipped cream pie into the face of Jerry “Mugs” Morelli of Mugs Media.

Well over 100 Dems took part in Sunday’s Sussex/Warren Democratic picnic at Sand Bar Park in Hackettstown.  Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop also took part in the event.

Earlier this week, the annual drawing took place at the Sussex County Clerk’s office for party position on this November’s ballot.  Democrats lucked out this year. We got the top line in Sussex County.

Visitor traffic at the SCDC booth at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show has been wonderful. As a result of this year’s presidential campaign, visitors on the whole have been especially friendly, which bodes well for November’s election.
