“The Township Council is expected to take a final vote on an ordinance Monday that allows for the growing and processing of cannabis, but no retail operations.
Prior to the public hearing, the Council will discuss possibly amending the retail prohibition to allow for retail stores outside the town center, said Mayor Howard Burrell.”

Nearly 88,000 low-level NJ marijuana offenses dismissed in first wave with more to come

An important step in the process of legalization and decriminalization of marijuana is correcting the inequity that came along with previous laws that unjustly punished individuals.
“Nearly 88,000 low-level marijuana offenses have been dismissed over the past two weeks, the state Supreme Court said, as New Jersey transitions to legalizing and decriminalizing the drug.”

Byram mayor, council split on marijuana sales ordinance

“Rubenstein presented a motion to table the ordinance, which attracted no votes.
"I find it disappointing that we haven't even taken the time to engage our planning board or the public in a public forum," the mayor said, complaining that the ordinance was only briefly discussed at one prior meeting, with the topic "buried in the agenda."
"Hopefully the public will turn out to the second reading of this ordinance," he said.
Byram residents will have a chance to comment on the proposed ban on June 15, when the measure if up for a final vote.”

“Legislators plan to pass a bill this week detailing the penalties and fines faced by marijuana users under 21 years old. This "cleanup" bill is seen as the last hurdle before Gov. Phil Murphy signs into law the full package of marijuana legislation, which would essentially put into action the ballot and constitutional amendment approved by voters in November.”
