Christie Signs Bill Limiting Gun Access for People who commit Domestic Abuse

People convicted of domestic violence will now be required to surrender any guns they currently own, and are prohibited from obtaining a permit to obtain a firearm, thanks to Bill S2483 signed by Chris Christie on Monday.

Sussex County representatives Parker Space and Gail Phoebus were the only people to vote no in the Assembly.

Assemblyman Space defended his vote in the usual style of bemoaning that the law violates the second amendment of the constitution.

The bill also passed by an overwhelming margin in the state senate, where Steve Oroho conveniently did not show up to vote.
