Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg on Thursday requested that Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto consider opening impeachment proceedings against Chris Christie based on the recent federal trial of two former associates of the governor.

Prieto, responsible for initiating the process, responded with a statement that “all potential legislative activity” is now being considered.

The matter may be of little consequence to Christie, as his fortunes have brightened considerably with the election of Donald Trump.
