Michael Pirog’s quest for a seat in the N.J. Assembly is now official.

The fallout from New Jersey’s newest tax on petroleum products, which raised the price of gas by 23 cents per gallon and can even go higher, continues to fall.  And some of those kicking back the hardest are Republicans.

Women across the country staged what may be the largest protest in our nation’s history.  People are mobilizing, speaking out against a range of policies that discriminate against women and treat them as second class citizens. While we may pressuring current elected officials to change these policies, the only sure way to accomplish this is to elect representatives in all levels of government that embrace your principles.

On January 18th, the Sussex County Democratic Committee held the first in a series of meetings designed to form or strengthen already existing municipal Democratic committees/clubs across the County, and Sussex Democrats responded.

As Donald Trump spends his first week in office issuing executive orders (imperial edicts?) of dubious legal standing and without input from experienced government personnel, Democrats are pushing back.

On Saturday, more than 2 million people clogged streets throughout the world demonstrating for women’s rights: to reproductive choice, to self-determination, to parity with men.  On Monday, Stephen Oroho, Sussex County’s Republican state senator, let New Jersey women know he wasn’t listening.
