Today, our good friend and Sparta Township neighbor Litsa Binder was bestowed with the “Peace Action People of the Year Award” by New Jersey Peace Action.

Wednesday’s grand opening of a Bernie Sanders campaign office at 47 North Sussex Street in Dover, NJ, turned out a crowd.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Fish and Wildlife, has proposed a Forestry Stewardship plan covering 3500 acres of public forest in Sparta, Ogdensburg and Hardyston Townships in Sussex County and Jefferson Township in Morris County.

Folks are moving out of Sussex County faster than anywhere else in New Jersey. Two towns, Vernon and Hopatcong, are in the list of the top ten municipalities people are abandoning.

New Jersey’s Transportation Trust Fund is in trouble. The source of funding to fix our roads, bridges and infrastructure will run dry within the next several months.
