On October 1st, Congressman Scott Garrett heaped praise on one of his supporters, Edward Durfee. Garrett called Durfee an “unsung hero.” This took place at a fundraising breakfast that Durfee organized to support Garrett’s Congressional campaign.

According to Bloomberg News, Durfee is the Regional Coordinator for “Oath Keepers”, an organization considered a domestic terrorism threat by the State of New Jersey.

State Senator Loretta Weinberg has called “on Governor Christie and [her] Republican colleagues in the New Jersey legislature to denounce – in the firmest way possible – Congressman Garrett for associating with the Oath Keepers”. In addition she asked New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino to conduct an investigation into whether Garrett violated New Jersey law.
