Democratic candidates address Sussex County voters

[UPDATED] Last night, Michele Van Allen, Democratic candidate for Sussex County Freeholder, addressed the crowd at a candidate’s forum sponsored by the Ogdensburg Historical Society. Michele spent a substantial part of her allotted time discussing the financial needs of students at Sussex County Community College and the growing problem of opioid addiction in the county.

Joseph Wenzel, Democratic candidate seeking to unseat incumbent Rodney Frelinghuysen in the 11th Congressional District, also addressed the crowd. He is seated at the far right of the picture. Wenzel stressed the need for bipartisan cooperation in Congress and faulted Frelinghuysen for his lack of leadership on issues important to the residents of Sussex County.

Michele’s GOP Freeholder competitors, George Graham and Sylvia Petillo, also spoke at the event. Frelinghuysen was a no show.
