The race in the Fifth Congressional District is looking up for Democratic candidate Josh Gottheimer.
The Cook Political Report recently changed its rating of the race from “lean Republican” (favoring incumbent Scott Garrett) to “toss-up”.
The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report rates the race in CD5 “in play”, as a “toss up/tilt Republican”.
And, a fresh survey done by Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group at the behest of the House Majority PAC (a super PAC organized to help Democrats win seats in the House of Representatives) finds that Gottheimer has a 7 point lead over Garrett.
