On Labor Day, march for citizens with disabilities

SCDC Vice Chair Dan Chiariello and former NJ Assembly LD24 candidate Jacky Stapel plan to join elected officials and parents and families of people with disabilities, to march in the “Fourth Annual Labor Day Walk for Citizens with Disabilities.”

The event takes place on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, as part of the Rutherford Labor Day Street Fair.

Marchers will assemble at the corner of Ames Ave. and Park Ave. in Rutherford at 11:00 am to begin the march. Members of families of persons with disabilities will be available to discuss concerns about dwindling resources and a weakened public policy regarding the quality of life for people with disabilities.

In the past, the annual march included many federal, state, county and local elected officials. For example, United States Senator Corey Booker took part in 2013 and Congressman Bill Parscrell in 2014.

You are invited to join the walk.
