While Congressional hawks beat the drum for higher military budgets and press President Obama for more aggressive military actions in the Middle East and elsewhere, little or nothing is said about those veterans who come home with deep, unseen scars.
Americans pay a price for our military involvement that is insufficiently recognized. All too often, war does not remain on the battlefield; it comes home with the warrior. Veterans sometimes suffer wounds of war that are not visible to the outside world; traumas that can wreak havoc on the home front.
There’s a showing of a film titled “Their War Came Home” this Friday, June 17th at the community Education Center, Building 3, Project Self Sufficiency, 127 Mill Street, starting at 7pm.
You’re invited. A discussion will follow.
