The race in the Fifth Congressional District has garnered national attention.
Democratic challenger Josh Gottheimer has received contributions to his multimillion dollar war chest from the National Democratic Committee as well as from some donors who in past years contributed to incumbent Congressman Scott Garrett’s campaigns.
Many observers see CD5 as one of the few congressional districts in play across the nation, and the only one in New Jersey.
