Bluewave NJ is sponsoring a debate for Democratic presidential candidates tonight, at 7 o’clock, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Church Street in Montclair.

However, neither Hillary Clinton nor Bernie Sanders will be there. Instead, two prominent New Jersey politicians will stand in: Senator Loretta Weinberg for Hillary Clinton and Assemblyman John Wisniewski (“The Wiz”) for Bernie Sanders. Both surrogates have shown themselves to be good friends of the Sussex County Democratic Committee by taking part in SCDC events over the past several years.

Whereas many of New Jersey’s Democratic leaders are strong in their support for Hillary, Wisniewski is leading Bernie’s efforts in the state. He’s working to put Sanders on the Democratic ballot in the June Primary.
