Space claims that what sounds like sedition is just a joke

Assembly candidate Parker Space is backing off the outrageous comments he made during the candidates debate held at the Newton High School on Tuesday.

He now tells the New Jersey Herald that his statements encouraging the possession of illegal weapons for the purpose of overturning our elected government were jokes.

Nobody laughed.

Especially Assembly candidate Michael Grace, who sat in shock as he listened to Space make the comments, delivered without a smile.

Space apparently wants us to believe that comments he made, with a straight face, were not really what they seemed, i.e., attacks on law and order, (actually encouraging sedition), but dumb jokes.

Which interpretation makes him look better as a candidate for political office?
