We are indeed fortunate that Senator Barbara Buono will address the next meeting of the Sussex County Democratic Committee.  That meeting will take place on the evening of May 22, 2012 at 7:30 at the Hampton Diner which is located about one mile north of Newton on Route 206.

Ms. Buono has served more than seventeen years in the New Jersey Legislature.  She was elected to the Assembly in December 1994 and was elected to the Senate in 2001.  She was the first woman to serve as New Jersey Senate Majority Leader.

Senator Buono is often mentioned as a potential candidate to oppose Chris Christie in the next gubernatorial election.

Amongst the reform legislation she has authored and sponsored is the School Funding Reform Act and the Global Warming Response act.

Senator Buono will make her presentation after a short business meeting.

Also, please plan to join us at 6:00 pm to dine together prior to the meeting. Frank, the Diner’s manager, has set aside the meeting room for our use starting at 6:00 pm.  We’ll be ordering off the menu.  And, if you order a menu item other than a hamburger or sandwich, Frank will provide you with a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage and dessert.
