When Governor Chris Christie joked that he was the guy moving the cones that blocked Fort Lee residents from access to the George Washington Bridge, he did so knowing enough to realize that his flip comment amounted to admitting complicity in the commission of a crime.

Close associates of the Governor are about to go on trial for that crime.

WNYC dug into the records relating to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s knowledge about the events constituting Bridgegate. A freedom of information request unearthed communications that indicate that Christie knew early on more about the lane closures than he has admitted.
