Democrats win big across NJ; but not in LD24

Results from yesterday’s election were not good news for Democratic Assembly candidates Jacky Stapel and Mike Grace.

Extremely low turnout in the 24th Legislative District resulted in the re-election of incumbent Parker Space and the election of Freeholder Gail Phoebus to the New Jersey General Assembly.

Mike and Jacky deserve our gratitude for their spirited and exciting campaign. We look forward to their next shot for elected office.

The New Jersey Herald ran this story about the race in LD24.

Meanwhile, Democrats did much better in the rest of New Jersey. They increased their majority in the 80 member New Jersey Assembly by three, for a total of 51 seats. That’s the largest Democratic majority in the Assembly in three and a half decades.
